Our Staff

Stephen is originally from Smyrna, TN and received his master’s degree in Audiology in 1999 from The University of Tennessee, Go VOLS!  After graduation, Stephen spent the next two years in Philadelphia, PA completing his clinical fellowship in a variety of settings including hospitals, ENT clinics, and a private hearing aid practice. He moved to Durham, North Carolina in 2001 and began working for Audibel Hearing Centers.  

What Stephen loves the most is seeing the smiles when they turn on a patient’s new hearing aids for the first time! He feels blessed to work in an office that has been a staple for hearing needs for over 40 years, and in an office where he is fortunate to see grandparents, their children, and their grandchildren receive the best hearing available.  

Stephen currently resides in Hillsborough, NC with his wife, two kids, and hound dog, Rosalie. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking for his family, travel soccer with his son, and dance competitions with his daughter. 

With Audibel he truly believes we are fitting the best technology available along with providing the best quality of service to all our patients. 

Susan Murphy is a North Carolina licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist who has been fitting and dispensing hearing devices since 2006. She attends classes regularly to maintain and enhance her knowledge of hearing health and hearing instruments. Susan currently works as a Patient Care Coordinator, combining her knowledge of hearing instrument science with the everyday task of managing a successful office.

Susan grew up in Gastonia, NC, and married her high school sweetheart George and they have one daughter. George joined the U. S. Air Force and retired after 20 years. They moved back to NC in 2004, settling in the Triangle. Susan enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, chasing waterfalls, reading, and taking care of her flower beds.

Susan is committed to helping her patients with all aspects of their hearing healthcare and dedicated to providing excellent patient care. She understands the value of providing individualized care to meet the needs of each person. Helping people hear better and improving their quality of life is a joy. She is looking forward to helping you or your family member soon.
